dade design daily on Swiss television
SRF has been broadcasting from the new building for several months (in operation since 2019). We already reported about it. A demanding project by dade design for SRF – swiss radio and television (dade-design.com).
Now, the state-of-the-art, automated studios have also been put into operation. Five round studio desks in different sizes can be seen in various programs, from News to ECO Talk. The surfaces of these desks are made of dade ROC concrete which has been finely ground to create a diamond/terrazzo look. The modern and expensive studio technology is hidden inside the desks.
The tables were designed by Rico Chiari, who designs studio concepts all over Europe. Together with dade design, the final materialisation was worked out in an intensive process: Several dozen samples were created and tested, nothing was left to chance. The professionalism of TPC (Technology and production centre Switzerland) impressed us and raised our imagination to a new level.
Nevertheless, the studio desks are handmade, and the concrete has the typical and desired look. Concrete is a natural product; each piece is unique – cavities and pores are part of it.
