Can a concrete bathtub just simply be installed?
Answer: Make sure you seek advice from an expert and have the statics checked. With new buildings, the floor usually only needs to be reinforced fractionally. Concrete bathtubs must be installed directly onto the concrete floor.

Isn't a concrete bath just too heavy – are the statics of an ordinary house sufficient?
Answer: Make sure you seek advice from an expert and have the statics checked. Considerable care needs to be taken with existing installations.

We would like to have a concrete bath installed outside – is that possible?
Answer: The model WAVE_CUBED is excellently suited for an outside installation. We recommend a coat of lacquer or waterproofing for surface care - as well as for protection against moss and algae, particularly during the transition period. Click here for an overview of our waterproofing products.

We are building a new house. When do we need to order our concrete bath and what must we take special care with?
Answer: We recommend you to order the concrete bath in accordance with the existence of a building licence. Normally there is a delivery period of 4-5 weeks. For new buildings, we recommend placing the bathtub with a crane directly into its position within the building shell. The bathtub is packed solidly in a case ex works.

So far as underlay flooring and sanitary installations go, what must be considered most importantly?
Answer: Concrete bathtubs are installed directly onto the concrete flooring. The underlay flooring will subsequently be cast in, this covers the supporting stand construction. The minimum requirements for the height of the underlay flooring are 11cm (maximum 18cm).

Concrete baths are delivered including draw off taps. (The WAVE_CUBED model is even delivered with a syphon). The person installing sanitary facilities can usually connect up the bathtub before sealing the underlay flooring. With very limited underlay flooring heights, a small surface area needs to be left open so that the syphon can be placed correctly. Please contact us in this case for specific advice.

Does the concrete bathtub have an overflow? Which stop valve do you recommend?
Answer: None of the dade-design.com models has an overflow. All concrete bathtubs are delivered with a sophisticated stop valve.

How does the transportation work?

Answer: We can arrange viewing appointments within various private buildings. Publicly available models can be viewed in the factory at the following address: 9450 Altstätten, Switzerland, as well as in Innsbruck, Austria. Please contact us.

Are concrete baths also suitable for children?
Answer: WAVE concrete baths are exceptionally stable and robust products. However, please do take care that the surface treatment is not damaged. With normal use, WAVE concrete baths are totally children friendly!

Which fittings do you recommend?
Answer:We recommend wall fittings with a long base or a free-standing floor model. The floor model from the Black Series 161 made by Steinberg Armaturen, for example are an excellent fit.

Wash basins & shower trays:

For wall fittings, do special precautions need to be taken?
Answer: Only the WAVE_CUBED is suitable for fitting to a wall. In essence, the wash basin is fitted like any other wash basin. We recommend threaded rods measuring at least Xxx in length and with a diameter of Xxx as well as fixed masonry. Fitting on plasterboard walls or gas-aerated concrete walls is not advised.

Can the WAVE model also be fitted to the wall?
Answer: No, the WAVE model is a standing model that is suitable for fitting onto a washbasin stand. With a combination of wood, this model fits particularly well with this type of application.

Does the wash basin have overflow and stop valve functions?
Answer: None of the dade-design.com models have an overflow. A stopper with threaded rods is not provided.

Which fittings do you recommend?
Answer: We exclusively recommend wall fittings or single-hole mountings that are fitted on the wash basin (for the Wave model). Black Series 161 models from Steinberg Armaturen, for example are an excellent fit.

How must surfaces be maintained?
Answer: Maintenance varies depending on the chosen surface coating. With lacquered models maintenance does not differ than that for a conventional wash basin. With waterproofed models we recommend regular refreshing of the waterproof coating. Dirt and toothpaste, for example ought to be quickly removed as the surface should not be so heavily scratched. Models without surface treatment should not be left to get too dirty. Perfume or shampoo splashes, however would not require immediate cleaning. We are interested in your shower trays. Which surface treatment should we choose so that drops of water do not accumulate?
Answer: We recommend lacquering.

Are there faucets that fit with dade-design products?
Answer: We are an official dealer of Steinberg faucets. Let us provide you with an offer for your faucets. For example the Steinberg black series 161 fits perfectly!
